Brittany Tait (Kariong, Australia) has received honorable mention All-America accolades from the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC), announced earlier this week. Tait helped the Hawks to their 14
th straight 20-win season in 2015 and a 3
rd place finish in the Collegiate Water Polo Association.
Tait is one of only 57 Division I players nationwide to earn All-America or honorable mention All-America honors this season. She joins a list of only 10 other players in the history of Hartwick water polo to earn the distinction. Hartwick has had at least one honorable mention All-American in each of the last three seasons.
This season, Tait made 38 starts in 39 appearances for the Hawks, helping the team to a goals against average of 9.67. Tait led the Hawks in steals (64), kick-outs drawn (73), and 5-meter kick-outs drawn (7). Her 73 kick-outs drawn is the third-highest single-season total in 'Wick history.
Tait also contributed to the 'Wick offense with 42 goals and 26 assists for 68 points. She ranked fifth on the team in both goals and points and sixth in assists.
A CWPA honorable mention honoree, Tait ranks seventh all-time in career kick-outs drawn with 115. She has accumulated 105 goals, 86 assists, and 191 points in her three seasons.
Hartwick ended the 2015 season with a 20-19 record. The Hawks, after earning the fifth seed in the CWPA Championships, finished third to secure their best finish at the tournament since winning the title in 2007.
