On this day in 2015 Hartwick legend Anna Meyer won her 300th game as head coach of the field hockey team, as the Hawks defeated Morrisville State on the road in double overtime, 3-2. The win put Meyer on a list of only 13 other Division III coaches and 33 coaches across all divisions to have won 300 games.
Â
'Wick jumped out to a 2-0 lead in just over 15 minutes on a pair of goals from junior Sarah Ryan. Her first came off the rebound off classmate Courtney Coons' shot at 7:08, and the second was set up by sophomore Claudia Stone at 15:13.
Â
Despite trailing by that 2-0 margin at the break, the Mustangs kept at it, scoring in the 44th and 62nd minutes to send the game to overtime.
Â
Stone ended up with the winner just over three minutes before penalty strokes were due, on her second goal of the season. Sophomore Mary Claire Houlihan got the assist on Stone's winner, which came off a corner and went into the left side of the cage.
