ITHACA, NY – The Hartwick women's swimming and diving team finished up competition at day three of the Ithaca Invitational on Sunday. The Hawks ended up in tenth out of 11 teams, accumulating 304 points throughout the meet.
Bree Dy (Matawan, NJ/Bishop George Ahr) had the top finish on the day for 'Wick, placing eighth in the 100 IM with a time of 1:04.53. Paige Eaton (East Rochester, NY/Our Lady of Mercy) was 16th in that event, touching up in 1:06.91.
Joelle Ocheltree (Libertyville, IL/Libertyville) claimed tenth in the 1,650 free with a time of 18:34.17, while Abby Miller (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) was 17th in 19:04.94. In the 200 breast, Eaton had the top finish for 'Wick at 16th in 2:35.96, and Jacqueline Drown (Columbia, MO/Rock Bridge) was 20th with a time of 2:36.72.
Other prominent placements for the Hawks include Dy at 20th in the 200 back with a time of 2:17.32 and Chavez-Rodriguez at 22nd in 56.22 seconds.
In the meet's final event, the 400 free relay, 'Wick finished ninth. Avyanna Chavez-Rodriguez (Rio Rancho, NM/Pecos Connections Academy), Dy, Elizabeth Baird (Wilton, NY/Saratoga Springs), and Miller combined to touch up in 3:49.22.
'Wick is off now until the new year, when they travel to Union College for a tri-meet with Union and Springfield on Saturday, January 8 at 1 p.m.
