UTICA, N.Y. – The Hartwick Hawks Men's Track and Field program traveled to Utica University to compete in the Pioneer Spring Invite amongst 18 teams.

The Men's 4x100 started the morning for the Hawks, Quran Best (Bronx, N.Y.), Joe Catalano (Chester, N.Y.), Marquis Jones-McKinney (Astoria, N.Y.) and Patrick Conteh (Salisbury, Md.) combined for a 45.73 finish, earning third place.

Hans Higgins (Buffalo, N.Y.) was the top finisher for the Hawks in the 1500 meter race, clocking in with a time of four minutes and thirty seven seconds.

Catalano placed in the top half of the 400 meter, crossing the finish line with a time of 54.44 seconds for a 12th place finish.

Best followed up with another top half finish, placing 15th in the 100 meter with a time of 11.35 seconds.

The 200 meter race saw Best place 15th with a 23.57 finish, Conteh placed 21st, clocking in at 23.96 to both finish in the top half of competitors.

The 4x400 relay was completed by Frank Guenther (Dolgeville, N.Y,), Catalano, Higgins and Jones-McKinney combined for a time of three minutes and fifty seven seconds to wrap up track events.

Ross Arvin (Richmondville, N.Y.) scored 9.92 in shotput in the lone field event for the Hawks.
