ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Women's Tennis picked up a 5-2 victory over Nazareth, taking two of three doubles matches before winning four of six singles contests.
The Hawks started doubles play off strong, with
Samantha Lantzy (Valatie, N.Y.) and
Tehani Courte (Noumea, South Province) earning a 7-6 victory at first doubles.
Autumn Millington (Rome, N.Y.) and
Gianna Leggieri (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) teamed up for a 7-5 win at second doubles, helping Wick carry a 2-1 advantage into singles play.
Hartwick continued to build the lead in singles competitions. Lantzy cruised to a 6-1, 6-3 victory at first singles, while Millington added a 6-4, 6-0 win at fourth singles. Leggieri battled back after dropping the opening set at third singles, defeating her opponent 4-6, 6-2, 10-6 to secure the Hawks' fourth singles point.
Elise Beauharnois earned a straight-set victory, defeating the opposing Golden Flyer 6-3, 6-4 at fifth singles.
