2017-18: Earned D3hoops.com East Region Rookie of the Year honors ... named Empire 8 Conference Rookie of the Year … tapped to E8 Second Team … six-time Empire 8 Conference Rookie of the Week … named a Hartwick “Hawk of the Week” six times on 11/20, 11/27 1/2, 1/15, 1/22, and 1/29 … received the Hartwick Tim O'Brien Memorial Award for most outstanding male freshman athlete ... averaged 29.9 minutes per game … led Hawks in scoring (16.7), rebounding (6.7), field goals (117), steals (29), free throws (110), free-throw percentage (.873), and was tied for team-best 57 three-pointers … Townes ranked third in conference in free-throw percentage, fourth in scoring, tied for fourth in three-pointers per game (2.4), seventh in rebounds, tied for eighth in steals (1.3), and ninth in minutes played (29.9) … registered four double-doubles … reached double figures in points 18 times … scored over 20 points on nine occasions … netted season-best 30 points against Skidmore in just his second collegiate game … connected on season-high six three-pointers in win over St. John Fisher (1/19) … hit two three’s or more 17 times, three or more 11 times, four or more on six occasions, and five or more twice.

Prior to Hartwick: Attended Our Lady of Lourdes … played three seasons of basketball and one in baseball for the Warriors … helped team to 2017 Section I and Regional Championships as well as an appearance in the state finals … made All-Section Team … was an All-Star … also played for Brewster Lightning AAU and Playmaker Academy Pumas AAU.
