ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Hartwick Hawks Women's Tennis team captured their first Empire 8 title on October 15, earning an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
 
The Hawks will play six non-conference matches in preparation for the tournament, beginning this Sunday at Rochester Institute of Technology with a start time of 3:30 PM.
 
The squad will have a quick turnaround as they travel to Ithaca College on April 5.  There will be a 10-day break for the Hawks before they play on back-to-back days on Saturday, April 15 and Sunday, April 16.  The 15^th is a tournament at New Paltz, while the 16^th is a dual match at the Pratt Institute.
 
Hartwick will wrap up their regular season with two home matches.  The first is against SUNY Cortland on Wednesday, April 19 which will be held on the campus of Oneonta State.  The second will be held at the Hawks' home facility of Wilbur Park on Sunday, April 23 against Oswego State.
 
The first round of the NCAA Tournament is set for Friday, May 5.  Hartwick will find out their opponent and location during the Division III Championship selection show on Monday, May 1.
